We price from 150 square metres upward — roughly the footprint of a standard double garage bay. Below that threshold, mobilisation costs outweigh material savings and we'd be doing you a disservice. Our sweet spot is commercial work between 500 m² and 15,000 m²: the parking deck of a Westlands retail block, a logistics yard off Mombasa Road, or a county market access road running 400 metres of 5-metre carriageway. For residential driveways under 150 m², we maintain a referral list of vetted small-works contractors we trust.

Yes — with conditions. Hot-mix asphalt requires surface temperature above 10 °C and no standing water at the point of lay. Nairobi's long rains (March–May) rarely drop below that threshold, but we monitor the KMD 48-hour forecast and will pause a pour if rainfall exceeds 8 mm/hr. We schedule rain-season contracts with a 15% time buffer built into the programme. Interlocking cabro is actually better laid in overcast conditions — the reduced UV slows curing and lets the bedding sand settle evenly. In short: we don't down tools at the first cloud, but we won't chase a deadline into a flooded sub-base.

Our default overlay is AC-14 dense-graded hot-mix asphalt to Kenya Roads Board Specification 2021, laid at 50 mm compacted depth for light commercial traffic and 75 mm for heavy-vehicle yards. For trailer courts and container depots where axle loads exceed 25 tonnes, we design a full-depth reconstruction using a 200 mm crushed-stone sub-base (CBR ≥ 80%), 150 mm wet-mix macadam base, and a 75 mm AC-20 binder course before the wearing surface. Every mix design is Marshall-tested at our partnered KEBS-accredited lab in Industrial Area before a single tonne leaves the plant. We'll share the test certificates with you before mobilisation.
Always. A flat surface is a failed surface — water is the primary cause of premature potholing on Nairobi's commercial lots. Every quotation includes a topographic survey and a 1% minimum cross-fall design. We tie into existing drainage channels, install kerb inlets where required, and can construct French-drain soakaways for plots where the county drain is below the finished surface level. Line marking, reflective road studs, and speed-control hump construction are quoted as line items so you can include or exclude them cleanly.

For urgent resurfacing (pothole failure on a live logistics yard, for instance), we maintain a rapid-response slot each week that can mobilise in 3 working days for works under 500 m². We operate our own fleet: two 10-tonne tandem rollers, a Wirtgen W100 milling machine, a paver with 4.5 m screed, and a bowser truck — no subcontracted plant delays.

We quote on a schedule-of-rates basis for projects where scope may vary (typical of county road contracts), and as a lump sum for defined commercial lots where drawings exist. Our published rates for the 2025/26 financial year: hot-mix overlay at 50 mm runs KES 2,850–3,400 per m² depending on access and haul distance from the plant; cabro 80mm interlocking runs KES 3,100–3,800 per m² installed including sand bed and edge restraints; milling and disposal is KES 650 per m². All rates are exclusive of VAT and county permit fees. We do not charge a mobilisation fee separately — it is absorbed into the unit rates.
We provide a 24-month defects liability period on all works, covering failures attributable to workmanship or materials — cracking, delamination, rutting under designed load. The warranty explicitly excludes damage from overloading beyond the design axle load, third-party utility works that disturb the formation, and acts of God (flooding above the design storm event). At the 12-month mark, we conduct a free visual inspection and issue a condition report. If you've retained us on a maintenance contract, we'll address minor edge cracking and patching within the warranty period at no extra charge.
